Personal, On Purpose: Meet Dr. Hoopes

Dr Hoopes Orthodontics

Some orthodontic practices are built for efficiency. Others for volume.

Dr. Hoopes built his practice differently.

From the beginning, his goal wasn’t to see more patients or move faster. It was to create a practice where decisions are thoughtful, care feels consistent, and patients actually understand what’s happening and why.

This idea didn’t come out of nowhere. It was shaped over time through his own experience as a patient, his training, and the mentors who influenced how he practices today.

A Different Way of Thinking About Orthodontics

Before becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Hoopes studied mechanical engineering and spent time working in highly technical environments. It might feel like a bit of a leap: mechanical engineering to orthodontics. But, there are two recurring themes for Dr. Hoopes. The first is that,

orthodontics, at its core, is about movement, timing, and systems working together. The second is that with planning and precision, the outcome and the patient journey can be exceptional.

One of his mentors put it simply: don’t compare treatment approaches, compare results. How will this plan affect a patient’s bite, their function, and how their smile holds up over time? But Dr. Hoopes asks another question: does this plan actually make sense for this person?

Not just clinically. But in the context of their life, their goals, and their timing.

Because the best treatment plan isn’t just the one that works on paper. It’s the one a patient can follow through on, feel confident in, and ultimately succeed with.

That’s where planning, precision, and perspective come together.

Why “Personal” has to be Intentional

A lot of orthodontic offices describe themselves as personal or family-friendly.

Dr. Hoopes believes that only works if the practice is built to support it.

That’s why Hoopes Orthodontics is intentionally kept at a lower volume. Not as a limitation, but as a choice. The rhythm of the practice is purposeful, allowing Dr. Hoopes to pay more attention.

What you, as the patient, get is increasingly rare:

  • You see the same doctor throughout your treatment

  • You work with a team that knows you

  • Your plan isn’t rushed or handed off

It creates the kind of consistency that leads to better communication, better decisions, and a better overall experience.

That’s what “Personal, On Purpose” actually means here.

A Collaborative Approach to Care

At Hoopes Orthodontics, treatment decisions aren’t made for you. They’re made with you.

Dr. Hoopes sees his role as a guide. He brings expertise, explains your options clearly, and helps you understand what each path looks like.

From there, you decide together what makes the most sense.

Because if a plan doesn’t fit your life, your schedule, or your goals, it’s not the right plan.

What You Can Expect From Day One

Patients often say the biggest difference is how clear everything feels.

That’s by design.

  • Your treatment is mapped out as a complete plan, not just the next step

  • Every appointment has a purpose and moves you forward

  • You always know where you are and what comes next

  • There’s no pressure to start until the timing feels right

It’s a more thoughtful process. And it leads to more predictable outcomes.

Designed With Precision. Delivered With Care.

That’s not just a tagline.

It’s how every decision in this practice is made.

From when treatment starts, to how it’s planned, to who you see at each visit, everything is built around creating a better experience and a better result.

Because the best orthodontic care isn’t just personal.

It’s personal, on purpose.
